SimonSimon Mascarenhas

Simon's amazingly smooth salsa style and 'to die for' lead probably stem back to his background in ballroom, Latin and Old-time dancing. Since his first dance steps, aged six, Simon has found a niche in salsa, where he has gained a deservedly fantastic reputation as a dancer, teacher and choreographer.

Simon has just finished touring with the Salsateca Dance Team. He has performed in most of London’s most prestigious venues including Scala, Latin Mass, Bar Rumba, Wessex house and many more. In 2008, he performed at West End Live to an audience of over 50,000 and has also made TV appearances as well as supporting people through the heats of Graham Norton’s ‘Dance Fever’ in 2006.

SimonCoupled with his likable personality, Simon is known for his excellent teaching abilities. Having a good knowledge of leading and following skills Simon emphasises timing and smoothness. He has taught recently for many of London’s leading salsa clubs and promoters including Salsateca, SalsaWild and now, London-Salsa. His amazing, smooth, relaxed, fast and fun lead also makes him a sort after partner on the dance floor and his freestyle dance captures everyone’s attention whether it be Salsa, Bachata or Cha Cha.

He is currently choreographing his new routine with dance partner Michelle which will be performed around the UK later this year. So watch this space!
